Letters from Home Mascot

After Blou, our original mascot, died in December 2009, it didn’t take him long to choose and send a successor to continue his work of raising funds for various charities and causes, among them the Letters From Home Program. In April 2010 Tyb (an acronym for Thank You Blou) was rescued from a shelter in Canada just before he was about to be euthanized or sold for research. Tyb is a very handsome five year old English Shepherd. He is a friendly dog that is proud to have been asked to represent LFH. When we did our Christmas packing in November, Tyb inserted his picture and a note of appreciation in a couple of hundred gift packages and has heard from several service people in Afghanistan. Since his adoption, Tyb has kept busy making appearances at nursing homes and hospitals. He has taken obedience classes and passed his Canine Good Citizenship Test. When he’s not “working” he likes to run, do agility training, and have his belly rubbed. We are happy to have him aboard and hope that he will be with us for a long time.
Pictured below, Blou was the past mascot of the Letters From Home Program. Blou passed away on 12/17/2009, but his memory will live on in our hearts.
