person who wrote it!!

Little did we know in 2003 that when her son went to boot camp in Ft. Benning, GA what the result would be.

Christine Jovenitti, received a letter from

her son attending basic training at the start of the Operation Iraqi Freedom.  In that letter he

expressed a yearning for news from home.

He told her that in order to receive a piece of mail he had to do push-ups.  As a result she got

 the idea of collecting as

many notes of support and putting

them in one big envelope.  After receiving his first package of letters from home that she

 collected

in the

small town

 in Rural Pennsylvania on

Memorial Day weekend he wrote back.  In this letter he stated that for the news and support

he received

 from home,

he would do hundreds of push-ups,

as it made a difference in his day. So, the concept was born ...The Letters From Home Program

 and it

has blossomed into a program that reminds soldiers

of who and what they are fighting for.  Christine Jovenitti, Founder and Director of this program,

takes great pride in

making sure that the people of

this great nation know the value of this. The Letters From Home Program emerged and has made

 great

 strides in pride

across the nation for a

way for people to communicate their love and support for what our troops are doing for us.

Letters from Home Program is a non-profit, 501c3 corporation dedicated to supporting our Army,

Navy,

Air Force,

Marines and Coast Guards

stationed away from home.  The program is run by dedicated volunteers, but we are growing at

such an

alarming rate

that the current leadership is stretched to capacity.

Just like the military, WE NEED YOU!

Everyone working together is what makes this program so SPECIAL!

(Our packages are assembled three times and loaded into the Straub Brewery Truck, with boxes made from

 St. Marys Box Company.

Thank you to two awesome local hometown supporters of our program.)

Please remember we DO NOT send liquids or aerosols, if they leak they ruin the entire package.

Reminder: Currently Letters From Home is not sending magazines or books to our troops overseas.

We also always are in need of sturdy sandwich size and snack size zip lock bags to package the items in.

Also keep in mind, when making your cards of support, the soldiers don't like glitter all over the cards as it makes a mess in shipping.  But please, remember to a man/woman overseas a LETTER FROM HOME is worth a million dollars.  There is nothing better..
