Campaign # 3 - November 2006 - The Shinning Stars of the Red, White and Blue - Current campaign!!!!
Dear All:
?
The Letters From Home Program was very excited to learn that you want to be a part of our next Campaign to support American Troops stationed all over the world.? You have no idea how big of a morale boost it is for military service members to receive cards, letters and care packages from complete strangers.? It reminds them of whom and what they are defending freedom for and it helps them accept the time that they must spend away from their loved ones.?
?
Our next Campaign is called “The Shining Stars of the Red, White and Blue 2006” and it will be sent in time for the Soldiers to receive our support before Christmas.? We expect to have over 6000 addresses of soldiers needing mail.? There are many ways that you can help with this campaign...?
?
-
You, personally, can write/ make cards and letters of support.? They may be simply thank you note, postcards, Christmas Cards, Veterans Day Cards, Halloween Cards, or whatever suites your fancy… The Troops will read it and be thankful, whatever you write.
-
Your group can sponsor a card making party.? Set a time, date and place, collect supplies, advertise within your community and together make cards and letters for the troops.
-
You or your group can ask your teachers, preachers and other organizations to get involved by making cards or collecting treats.
-
You or your group can arrange to Publicize and Collect treats for the campaign and present them to the Letters From Home Program.? This is the only campaign that can send chocolate to the troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan and they LOVE CHOCOLATE!? Other things to collect would be hot chocolate, candy canes, soup mix, any individual size pre packaged snacks, candy, nuts, jerky or cookies, (please no homemade baked goods, we only send after collecting goodies for 3 to 4 months), individual drink mixes, soup mixes, oatmeal, granola bars, Xmas tree ornaments, cards, puzzles, stationary, dvds, cds, socks, and or money to offset shipping costs or to purchase phone cards.
-
You, your group, and any friends or family can attend and help package all the treats that are collected throughout this campaign on Sunday, November 19th at 1:00pm at the Sacred Heart Activity Center in St Marys
?I hope that I have given you some ideas and suggestions of how you can make a difference in a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Seabee’s Christmas.? IF you have any ideas of your own, we will welcome your creativity and enthusiasm!? For more information on the Letters From Home Program please see our website at www.lettersfromhomeprogram.org .? The Letters From Home Program is a non-profit, all volunteer, 501c3 corporation dedicated to sending cards, letters and care packages to troops stationed away from home, until they come home.
