"Picture Hometown USA" packages have just arrived in Iraq for the troops to enjoy!! ? July 30, 2006 Total letters collected to date by Letters from Home: 162,532 The Letters from Home Program has taken care of this many people with cards, letters and "goodies": 23,185 Soldiers, Sailors, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guards.
Thank you to all who have helped send "Letters from Home" to the troops. We have served many individual Service Men and Women from different areas of the Military, here in the USA and abroad.? "Help a Hero Call Home for Christmas" Campaign *Nov 15, 2003? mailed 396 soldiers Christmas mail and phone cards?at our first letter stuffing party.?Each received 5 letters, 5 Christmas Cards and one phone card. 4000 Letters/Cards *Dec 18, 2003 mailed 132 soldiers Christmas mail and phone cards. 660 Letters/Cards *Dec, 2003? mailed 80 disposable hand warmers to a unit in Iraq. *Jan, 2004 mailed 10 boxes of warm clothing and school supplies to a unit in Kosovo for the children there.?? *Jan, 2004 presented 17 soldiers phone cards prior to their leaving for Iraq.? ? ? "Send Your Heart to the troops" Campaign ?*Jan, 2004 mailed 450 soldiers valentine cards.? Mailed 520 soldiers in hospital valentine cards. Each soldier received 10 cards and chocolate heart. 9700 Valentines/Cards ? ? "Easter wishes from America" Campaign *March, 2004 mailed 555 deployed soldiers, 25 in USA and 175 in hospitals Easter wishes and phone cards. Each soldier received 4 cards, a chocolate crunch egg, and a phone card. 3020 Easter Cards ? ? Memorial Day 2004? "A Time To Remember" *May, 2004??Mailed 120 soldiers "Thinking of You" notes after they lost two of their own soldiers earlier in the week.? This package also included some homemade cookies and Beany Babies. 360 Notes ? *July, 2004? 6,000 Letters/Cards ? Morale Raising Letters on their Way August 31, 2004 Our Pennsylvania National Guard Unit soldiers who are about to be deployed overseas were given a great send off with the cards and letters that came in. Thank you to all who helped us reach out to them with the beautiful cards of support. Along with their support letters, we included a phone card and candy, gum, magazines, and Elk Trail Mix.? Thanks to the fine folks at NALZ for the donation of their famous trail mix for all to enjoy. ? 125 soldiers will enjoy this mailing for our National Guard Unit. ? Also sent with this mailing? were packages to two Military Service Men (who happen to be brothers). One just left for Iraq and the other one is stationed in Japan.? Another package went to one other soldier who is stationed here in the USA near Philadelphia, so he will be able to enjoy a package from ? 9/7/04? Another soldier in Iraq family writes us requesting letters of support to raise the morale of her brother. A package is immediately sent overseas to her brother Joseph.

We sent 11,150 cards and letters to 1,510 soldiers. UPDATE:?06/05/05 Remembering You 2005. Remembering You 2005? STATISTICS OF WHAT WE SHIPPED THIS CAMPAIGN. 1675 soldiers 10,900 cards 100 boxes of Girl Scout cookies 1200 Beanie Babies 1675 personal care items such as lip balm, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. & calendars 3350 drinks of Kool-Aid, Gatorade, hot cocoa, etc. 1675 packs of beef jerky &? granola bars 1675 individual bags of candy & licorice sticks 1675 packs of gum-? books, magazines and puzzles, and footballs and toy. Their individual packets were overflowing with goodies and cards of support and most of all Love from the citizens of the USA that they are protecting.? Thank you all for making our program work...and to our USA military...we are here for you and will be working on another big campaign this summer, so if you want a Letter from Home Package, you must sign up each time by sending us a note with your current address. Our soldiers anxiously await their packages.. and on Letter stuffing day, returning soldier came to show their support and appreciation by packaging packages with us!! Everyone is packaging boxes for the troops including our returning soldiers who came to help.. The boxes were mailed out on June 7, 2005. Our big Letter stuffing party was an overwhelming success on Sunday June 5, 2005. There were well over 100 people who showed up to help with the packaging ?including 3 soldiers who recently returned home and wanted to come back to the Letters from Home Program and show their support.? LETTERS FROM HOME PROGRAM Some special soldiers surprised us all at the letter stuffing party with their visit and words of thanks and gratitude. ? "A Salute to You from the Red, White and Blue 2005" August 28, 2005 2619 Service men and women received cards and care packages full of socks, freezer pops and tootsie rolls along with many numerous items. 119 volunteers arrived to help, including Gordon Huie, survivor of the Twin Towers and Elk County Catholic High School Varsity and JV football team. "The Gift of Freedom 2005" November 13 - December 16 2005 38,080 plus cards and flat stanley projects collected for over 6,012 servicemen and women. Over 125 volunteers arrived to package thousands of treats, tree ornaments, phone cards and beautiful Christmas wishes for Peace for the coming year. Thousands of treats, tree ornaments and phone cards ?were put in their care packages this holiday season. Thank you all who helped assemble them.
Boxes higher than ever stacked up ready for Santa to deliver them, even filled with our local Elk County trail mix. Overall 38,080 cards!!! and more still arriving...Our servicemen and women will know that they are not forgotten with this outpouring of love! ??
